The Why

In South Sudan, far too many women give birth without access to safe medical care. A lack of proper facilities means preventable complications too often become life-threatening for both mothers and newborns. In fact, South Sudan has one of the world's highest maternal mortality ratios—making it one of the most dangerous places to give birth in the world. We have an opportunity to change that.
